Who Is Prototype?
Imagine a six year old child with his headphones on listening to Eminem, N.W.A., Big Pun and Tupac on his MP3...that kid is Prototype. Growing up in Scarborough, Ontario, nobody thought the lonely, quiet and boring brown kid would amount to anything close to a music artist. Putting together his own studio in his bedroom at 14 years old, Prototype saw no other option than to invest all he got into what we loves most...music.
Having to teach himself everything he knows, he never lets anybody do something that he could do himself. Late nights and early mornings trying to master his craft as a writer, rapper, singer and producer, he allowed nothing to get in his way. |
Music isn't just music, it's the life I live.” |
Check out Prototype's latest music video, "Model", produced by himself, directed by Motion Beaver,
Prototype always kept himself low-key. He was never the popular kid. You would never see him at a party, or ever hear his name being thrown around in any drama because he kept himself very distant. Alone in his own world is what he felt, and music is what kept him going. He went to school, but as soon as that bell rings, he locks himself in his bedroom with his speakers blasting, steady cooking up beats and bars independently. The brown boy continues to show his range of diversity as each record drops, starting with straight bars with "Picasso", more singing with "Model", and his latest R&B record "You & I". Both "Model" and "You & I" shows Prototype as not only an artist but producer as well, having produced the entire tracks.
This is only the beginning. |
